Ramblings from Rhodes: Downloads

Here's a new bunch of desktop photos for 2013. Hope you like them. I've just retained a couple from last year, but most are brand new. Once again, if you download one, the file name will give you a clue as to the location and date of the photo.

• To download:
Just click on any photo, then, in the new, larger view, right click (or ctrl click on some Macs) to download the file. In the submenu, click "Save Image As" and save it wherever you wish on your C drive. Simples!!

About the Perpetrator:

I was born in the English city of Bath and educated at the City of Bath Boys' School. I attended Gloucester College of Art and Design and for most of my working life was a graphic designer. I still dabble with a few clients here and there in the UK. I married a half-Greek girl in Bath, UK, many moons ago and we eventually re-located to Rhodes in August 2005. My wife's mother was from Athens and married a British Serviceman whilst still in her home city just after WW2. Following the birth of my sister-in-law in Athens, they re-located to the UK in the early 1950s for a "better life".

I have always been interested in the arts and creativity, which is why I enjoy writing and making music (albeit with dubious results!).

Further down this column you'll find a section entitled "Older Postings, Have a Browse", where among the archives you'll find a host of anecdotes and experiences, plus loads of photographs of Rhodes [many taken during wintertime] and other parts of Greece which we've visited over the years.

Ideas: Starts with an expanding list of tavernas and bars here on Rhodes which I've reviewed elsewhere on the blog, together with links to those posts where the reviews appear, as well as to external links about the places listed. Then there's a section with info about other more far-flung Greek islands (with links where possible) that we've visited during the past four decades or so. The intent is to give the reader ideas as to where else to go to find the real Greece.

News and Stuff: Odds and sods which I think the reader may be interested in, but usually not long enough to become a "post".

Links: If you're planning a DIY stay on Rhodes or Halki, here is a selection of links to sites which offer villas, apartments and studios for rent. Loads of other Greek and Rhodean sites are linked on this page too. Also there's other stuff that may interest an ageing hippie! Plus even some ideas for things to do or places to go in the UK.

Nearby Islands: Useful for anyone wishing to either visit one or more of those islands whilst holidaying here on Rhodes, or to use Rhodes as a base from which to "hop" to smaller islands in the area. There's a brief resumé of each island with some helpful links.

Downloads: Basically it's a page of photos taken by yours truly, which can be downloaded for use as desktop pics on your PC. Instructions at the top of the page.
